Art

In what little spare time I have, I sometimes paint and draw, and have occasionally sold a painting or been asked to paint something for someone. I seem to have an odd set of interests when it comes to visual art; on one hand I paint horrific scenes from movies or my imagination that probably wouldn’t surprise anyone familiar with my writing or music, and on the other I enjoy painting still life and local scenes ranging from flora and fauna to small town and country landscapes. I am defiantly a representational artist, and not particularly interested in the modern art scene in general. My favorite paintings are those I’ve devoted a few days of work to, but I also enjoy painting quickly on small supports. I paint in oils with a preference for hardboard panels over canvas. Here are some of my paintings, Irina and Eugenie, both based on images from Jesus Franco films. These were both done in the summer of 2021, and are both in oil on 9″ x 12″ oil-primed hardboard panels.
